Yesterday I was telling you about our little walk from Sunday afternoon. What I did not tell you was the fact that we once again went wild and went to the bookstore. Oh, the bookstore! That is the most perfect place to relax for me. If you give me a good book and a cup of tea I shall be your friend forever ;) I agree with my best friend Jane (Austen) when she said: “The person, be it gentleman or lady, who has not pleasure in a good novel, must be intolerably stupid.” + dear old C.S.Lewis: “You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me.” Let the books never end and the cup of tea always flow :)
Some Dickens, Please! :)
We went to two of our fav bookstores and I believe you already remember one of them. That is right, I am talking about Empik ;) The first bookstore we visited though was not Empik but Matras. Matras is not that high on books written in English but it is a perfect bookstore for Polish authors or books written/translated in Polish language. We managed though to get from there another book for our collection ;) It is a huge paperback with Charles Dickens shorter novels. Well at least 4 of them: Oliver Twist, Hard Times, A Tale Of Two Cities & Great Expectations. Tell you the truth I never heard of Hard Times and I am ashamed of that so that will be the first one I shall read from that book ;)
Reading Asterix ;)
On the other hand, my husband is not a romantic/period movie/book fan so even though he knows and has read Dickens it is not his thing ;) But he does love his comics. He is a huge fan of Asterix & Obelix so after jumping by Empik we ended up with 2 extra comic books with Asterix :) Makes sense, we cant have one without the other! And tell you the truth, I am quite a fan myself ;)) I have the first 4 books in Romanian language and I read them from cover to cover. Both me and my sister. And I think I have already told you about my fav one: Asterix And Cleopatra :) As soon as we got home he jumped in the bed and started reading them, just like a small child with new toys :) I love him for that!
Hope you guys had an awesome weekend as well :)
P.S. As a Christmas present "Santa" also brought me a "Behind The Scenes To Downton Abbey" and the 3 parts of the "Hunger Games" so that is my "To Read List" for the beginning of the year ;)
